Since 2019, PREVECAL VETERINARY has been an essential tool to verify the accuracy of results and evaluate the laboratory measurement procedures in veterinary laboratories.

BioSystems S.A. international external quality assessment scheme (EQAS), known as Prevecal, provides an excellent complement to the laboratory internal quality control. Prevecal Veterinary is specially designed using animal matrix to simulate the real behaviour of veterinary samples. It can help to estimate the interlaboratory variability and to demonstrate the laboratory’s performance,
while also guiding to the possible causes of error in the laboratory.

Prevecal Veterinary compares the result obtained by the participant with a reference value and with the results of all the participating veterinary laboratories analysing the same sample.
The data obtained in this external control program
is presented in a monthly report. An extended report is also included, where the comparison is expanded to human clinical chemistry laboratories which allows for a greater number of participants.

The program is a result of BioSystems' policy of collaborating actively with laboratories to obtain analysis results with the highest accuracy.
